          Osborneville Cemetery, located on the Depeyster - Gouverneur County Highway, on

          a plot of ground adjacent to the former Horace Hurlbut farm, and in the Town of DeKalb,

          is a small neighborhood Cemetery.  Burials have been discontinued.  The Oldest burial

          recorded is in 1857.

          

          Philo Hurlbut, who was one of the early pioneers of the area came from Connecticut and

          carved a home in the wilderness.

 

          Harland Goodnough of Gouverneur collected the following records from the tombstones

         and presented it to the Historian department.  Mr. Goodnough is a descendent of the Tyler

          families whose record is found here.
